Choose your field of study

In 2020, psychology was the second most frequently chosen field of study in Poland. Many people decide on this path because it offers a wide range of opportunities. The offer of integrated 5- or 6-year programs as well as master’s programs in many European countries is extensive. By choosing psychology, you will have very broad specialization options and will not be limited to a single career path. Finishing this degree does not mean you must become a therapist working in a private office. If you are also interested in biology, neuropsychology will be a great choice. Interested in sports? You can become a sports psychologist. Interested in law and want to take part in trials? Become a forensic psychologist. Psychology studies will open the door for you to work virtually anywhere – in schools, courts, prisons, hospitals, hospices, HR, advertising, the police, the military, or business.

Compared to other European countries, Poland performs worse in terms of practical education. To put it simply, the main difference is that you will spend significantly more time with books and less on the practical development of your skills. This results primarily from the much greater emphasis placed on this type of learning by those countries, as well as from the much better and more modern infrastructure at their universities.

The range of psychology programs in English in Europe is broad. A great choice is the University of Malta, which offers more than 20 innovative psychology programs (e.g., psychology with theatre, psychology with geography, or psychology with foreign languages – and that’s just a glimpse of their offer…). Other options include Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, University of Amsterdam, The University of Edinburgh, Aarhus University, and Università di Bologna.
