Studies in the Netherlands offer a wide range of courses, both undergraduate (approximately 500 majors) and master’s (more than 1150 programmes).

Tuition fee: The annual tuition fee at state universities is 2314€, but the fee for the first year of study is half the fee - 1157€.

Cost of living: The prices of renting rooms in the Netherlands have increased in recent years - you have to reckon with the cost of 300€-450€, while if you are thinking of studying in Amsterdam, then prices there start from 450€. Although the cost of renting can be high, other expenses are quite “ordinary”. The price of meals is slightly higher than the Polish one - students usually spend between 150€ and 250€ per month. A ticket to the cinema will cost you around 10€ and a meal in an inexpensive restaurant 15€.

Although looking at the above amounts you will probably find that studying in the Netherlands will be more expensive than in Poland, taking into account the financial support offered by this country, the cost will turn out to be much more affordable!

Work: As a student you will be able to work a maximum of 16 hours a week, and the salary you can expect is 6€-11€/hour. So you can expect to earn between 380€-700€ per month. But that's not all - the Dutch government supports students financially.

Scholarships and Student Loans: When studying in the Netherlands you are entitled to certain loans and scholarships. One of the most popular options is a tuition loan, which can range from 600€ to 1000€ per month. The terms of the loan are favourable, which is why many people decide for it.

Another source of additional funding may be a supplementary grant of up to 430€ per month. The conditions of granting are the same as for the loan, in addition, the family's earnings may not exceed €55,000 per year. It should be noted that a supplementary grant is not the only scholarship, and studies in the Netherlands may become even cheaper thanks to other funding options.
